Omaha firefighters raise money to battle Muscular Dystrophy [Video]

Omaha firefighters are again firing up their grills to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. 

Steak dinners will be served at the Omaha Fire Fighters Local 385 hall, 6005 Grover St. The first steak fry is scheduled for Thursday, with additional events slated for April 4 and May 9.

Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. each day. The meals consist of an 8-ounce ribeye steak, baked potato, green beans, salad with homemade Italian dressing and Orsi’s bread. 

A spokesman for the union said it has raised over $700,000 through events for the Muscular Dystrophy Association since 2011. The money raised “helps meet the urgent need for MDA’s continued services for local families” that battle the effects of muscular dystrophy, ALS and related neuromuscular diseases.
