Metronet worker hit and killed by car at Bayswater park in Perth [Video]

A man working on WA’s Metronet rail project has died at a park in Perth’s northeast.

The subcontractor was on his lunch break, sitting under a tree near the new Bayswater station, when he was hit by a car.

Paramedics rushed to Halliday Park just before 12pm on Wednesday, but he died at the scene.

“We are aware of a tragic incident that occurred close to the new Bayswater station project, involving one of our team,” a Metronet spokesperson said.

“The matter is currently under investigation by WA Police, but Metronet can confirm the incident did not occur on the worksite of the New Bayswater Station Project.”

Major Crash Investigators are trying to piece together what went wrong.

A blue Tesla was towed away from the scene and construction on the station has stopped.
