Divorced and burnt out, I ditched my lavish life to live in a van [Video]

Selling her business and everything she owns to live in a van is the ‘best decision’ Caitlin Pyle says she’s ever made. 

In 2019, the 34-year-old lived lavishly in an eight-storey, 30-room house in Orlando, Florida with her now ex-husband, and owned her own proofreading business.

But she gave it all up for a life on the road, after her marriage of eight years broke down and she sold her company for $4 million (£3.16 million).

In 2023 when her divorce was finalised, Caitlin decided her next step would be to adopt a minimalist lifestyle, and bought a Mercedes Sprinter van for $88,000 (£69,500).

Caitlin then spent $102,000 (£80,500) on renovations – including a custom kitchen complete with a large fridge, juice and blender – and hit the road soon after.

She now visited eight US states and works remotely as a life coach, spending her days trying new experiences like mountain climbing.
