Zerodhas Billionaire Boss Nithin Kamath Weighs In On WFH Culture: Its Great For Some BUT [Video]

Zerodha’s co-founder and boss, Nithin Kamath, has some reservations about the work-from-home (WFH) culture. The entrepreneur took to X/Twitter and remarked that their company went 100% remote during the 2020 global lockdown. However, he adds, that the short term remote accommodation didn’t turn out to be productive for everybody in the firm. Kamath explains that WFH works well for support roles due to the structural nature of the profile. The arrangement doesn’t work in the long term for core teams in tech, business, and decision-making. He cites “big gaps in remote communication” as the primary reason for the failure of WFH. Nithin’s company has now moved on to a hybrid work model for its core team consisting of 100+ people, which is about 10% of Zerodha’s headcount. The staff visits the office 3 days a week and Kamath claims that the “change has been dramatically positive.”
