Longford Rose Grace Kemple spoke of her pride as she reflected on an emotional and historic official Rose of Tralee tour of her native county on Monday.

The Roses began their day at Center Parcs Longford Forest, followed by a quick cycle on the Royal Canal Greenway near Abbeyshrule and lunch in the award winning Rustic Inn.

The Roses then travelled on to Longford to visit St Mel’s Cathedral at approximately where Fr McGrath and members of Longford County Council were on hand to greet them and provide a quick tour of the cathedral. A champagne reception was hosted for the touring Roses by the Longford Arms Hotel. 

Knights & Conquests Heritage Centre in Granard was next on the Rose Tour schedule followed by a tea break in the Bailey Café adjacent to the centre. Then it was on to Edgeworthstown to Midland Karting to finish off their busy day.
