Sen. Mike Rounds meets to discuss immigration in South Dakota | News [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. – South Dakota Sen. Mike Rounds joined Visit Rapid City for lunch along with hospitality and industry partners.

A large part of the conversation that took place was immigration and the H-2B visa program – something that is very impactful to South Dakota according to Visit Rapid City CEO Brook Kaufman.

Brook Kaufman, CEO of Visit Rapid City said “It’s an opportunity for foreign workers to come in under a visa program and be able to go to work for different people. So, in South Dakota for example, our tourist economy is really vibrant in the summer. So those H2B is really allowing us to have the workforce that we need to be able to service visitors.”

Part of the conversation between Kaufman and Sen. Rounds was about legal immigration and how it helps bring the necessary workers to help South Dakota’s economy.
