OZARK, Mo. (KY3)—Starting in January, the Ozark School District will offer free health insurance for part-time employees. The benefits apply to anyone who works 25-30 hours a week.
This will affect mostly bus drivers and nutrition services workers, around 50 to 60 current employees.
“This is a great tool to help with retention. We’ve got a lot of loyal part-time employees who come in and do a lot of great work getting our kids to school safely, as well as making sure that they’ve got a great meal and warm food every day for breakfast and lunch. And it’s just a great way to recognize them in their service. But also to that that external piece is a recruitment tool to help get more drivers in so that, you know, we’ve got less kids on busses, and it’s just a safer opportunity,” said Dr. Phillip Link, executive director of human …
