Indy’s Sandwich on Main Street in South Portland is doing something a little different. They are naming their sandwiches after children’s folktales.Husband and Wife, Wan Pitafai and Dee Chandpen, are co-owners of two Thai restaurants and decided to add a third: A sandwich shop where the menu items are right out of a children’s book.There’s a turkey sandwich called The Mother Goose and another sandwich named the Three Little Pigs.“A sandwich with three types of pork in it,” said Chandpen.The Portland Press Herald named Indy’s one of the best 75 restaurants of 2024.“Jack and the Beanstalk,” is a vegetarian panini sandwich with cauliflower, and house-made relish.
