I-35 traffic pushes some South Austin residents to work from home [Video]

AUSTIN, Texas — Whether you’ve lived in Austin for decades or you moved here last week, commuting through South Austin on Interstate 35 can break even the strongest spirit. 

KVUE’S Traffic Anchor Hannah Rucker recently put out a call on social media and received hundreds of messages from viewers venting about feeling stuck with limited options when driving into Bluff Springs approaching Slaughter Lane on I-35. 

The most recent example is on March 19, when a four-vehicle crash on I-35 northbound at Stassney Lane created a 5-mile backup, causing residents to be stuck in standstill traffic for hours.
