ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Expect heavy rain in north Georgia today with the potential of flash flooding. Some areas could see 3″ of rain, which would lead to ponding on the roads and subsequent street flooding. On top of that, strong storms are possible this afternoon and evening. Strong damaging winds and an isolated tornado are possible, especially south of I-20. Areas south of Atlanta are now under a level 2 (out of 5) threat of severe weather.
