There’s nothing a dog hates more than seeing their owner leave, even when they’re gone for minutes. A dog called Maverick has come up with a brilliant plan to keep his owner from ever stepping out their front door.

In a post shared on TikTok in March, the pup’s owner, under the username mavandmel, shows the golden retriever holding his owner’s t-shirt in his mouth, refusing to give it back to her so she can’t leave.

The poster can be heard saying: “I just have to go to the dollar store really fast. You gotta give me my shirt back. We’ll be gone for like, 15 minutes tops. But I gotta get some stuff for Auntie Julie’s birthday party today. So can you give me my shirt?”
