Clouds, Haze Hanging Tough [Video]

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) -We’ve had quite a sky show lately, with a mix of sunshine, blue sky and cloud cover featured.  Along with the sky variety, we’ve had a few scattered showers dotting our radar as well from time-to-time, particularly after lunch time.

Our weather pattern heading toward the weekend will be rather “trough.”  That is, troughs (elongated areas of low pressure) will influence our weather pattern heading toward and into the weekend.   A cool pool of air aloft will contribute to the instability, which means it won’t take much to trigger a scattered shower, even a rumble of thunder.

We will need to keep an eye on the tropical system “Ernesto” this weekend and into the new work week.  Certainly no direct hit is anticipated, but the influence of the system could contribute to some cloud cover, scattered showers, high surf and rip tides.
