BACK TO SCHOOL: What to pack for those picky eaters [Video]

MYSTIC, CT (WFSB) – The first day of school inches closer.

Parents might be wracking their brains about packing school lunches when they have picky eaters in their lives.

Believe it or not, it is something even award-winning chefs struggle with on occasion.

Chef David Standridge of the Shipwright’s Daughter in Mystic shared some great ideas.

“I know no one else out there has some picky children, but I have some very picky children,” Standridge said.

As a dad of two, not only is he going through that, but he was that kid once upon a time.

“I don’t think I ate a vegetable until I was 25,” Standridge said. “And now I’m a chef. So, there’s hope for all of these children.”

There is hope, and there’s hope for parents too, when it comes to what to pack in the children’s lunchboxes.

The trick is to find a food …
