Former Storm Lake Chief Of Police says immigration in Northwest Iowa is good and should be celebrated [Video]

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – The former police chief of Storm Lake, who currently works for the Sioux City Diocese, and is a board member of the National Immigration Forum in Washington D.C. believes immigration and changing demographics in Siouxland are good for communities.

Mark Prosser, the former police chief for Storm Lake, spoke to the Sioux City Rotary Club Rotary club Monday over the lunch hour. He said during his term as chief Of police he saw a shift in the demographic landscape of Storm Lake and he says places like Sioux City are seeing that as well.

He said, in his mind, communities need to embrace people speaking different languages and with different cultures and the growth is good for businesses, churches, and communities as a whole.
