6 First Alert Weather Day [Video]

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Today is a First Alert Weather Day, potentially damaging wind gusts are possible late this afternoon and this evening ahead of a quick moving line of storms arriving after 7 p.m.

Wind are already gusting close to 30mph this morning, and should only increase through the morning hours. Temperatures should be mild, and it will actually be a warm day despite the wind. Temperatures should climb into the mid-50s by the lunch hour, with afternoon highs reaching the mid-60s. However, wind gusts will increase from around 30mph this morning, into the 40-50mph range by this afternoon.

The strongest wind gusts are expected late this afternoon and early this evening when gusts could top 50mph around the metro. A High Wind Warning is in effect for areas just west of Omaha where wind gusts could actually approach …
