US Embassy Visa Operation update from Consul General over Travel Ban Fear & Uncertainty.
The Biden administration has reopened its land borders on December 23rd for Canada and Mexico. so there are more movements expected for reducing visa backlogs at consulate and embassies for vaccinated travelers.
Approximately 90 percent of embassies and consulates are still subject to pandemic-related restrictions, and “many continue to face staffing challenges that began during the pandemic,” according to the officials.
Appointment availability varies greatly by country, leaving some foreign citizens in better positions to travel, than others based on local conditions.
State Department has announced the recent US Visa backlog reduction status.
