Bella Brave‘s difficult health journey continues.

After the Tiktoker—whose real name is Bella Thomson—was placed in a medically induced coma due to complications from a viral lunch infection, her mother Kyla Thomson provided an update on the 10-year-old’s health.

“Two days ago they were preparing us for her not to survive,” Kyla told People in an interview published July 11. “But today, they’ve told us she’s shown she is fighting and actually shown improvements!”

And while Kyla is excited about her daughter’s progress, she was quick to add that they are “not out of the woods.”

“This could take weeks,” she continued, “but we are holding on to hope for her and never letting go. She’s showing us she’s fighting and she will make it out of this.”
