Resumes and Job Seeking

This weeks JA People of Action are the business and community leaders who served as volunteers for mock job interviews at Greenwood High School [Video]

This week’s JA People of Action are the business and community leaders who served as volunteers for mock job interviews at Greenwood High School. Each volunteer spent five minutes in a 1:1 setting with a student asking a series of interview questions, reviewing resumes, and providing evaluations via scores on the skills shown during this rotation. The goal of these interviews was to get the students comfortable in having meaningful career conversations with professionals while exhibiting soft skills such as handshakes, communicating about themselves, and eye contact. Each student received feedback via JA score sheets as to how the interview went. The goal of this constructive feedback was to guide the student in behaviors that would lead to success when applying for future jobs. A huge thank you to Will McCoy for inviting JA to facilitate this experience and to assist in preparing his students to be work/career ready!
