Texas man dead after pursuit of illegal dumper, sheriff says [Video]

Authorities say they don’t know if the victim was killed from the crash or from gunfire.

SAN ANTONIO — Bexar County officials say a 36-year-old man was found dead at the scene of car wreck shortly after authorities received calls about someone in a truck repeatedly dumping trash at a southeast-side business. 

It’s believed the man was an employee at the business, Sheriff Javier Salazar said, and that he and others may have pursued the person dumping trash before he wrecked. The victim hasn’t been identified, and while Salazar said they couldn’t immediately determine how he died, he said a gun was found in his car along with evidence he may have been shooting from the road.  

Witnesses told investigators there may have been gunfire between two vehicles in the area around the same time.
