Sheriff Mark Lamb alone for GOP US Senate Primary Debate as Kari Lake hosts Tucson town hall [Video]

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb was the only candidate on stage for the Republican U.S. Senate Primary Debate on Wednesday night after frontrunner Kari Lake opted out and hosted her own town hall event in Tucson instead.

Sheriff Lamb stood at the podium alone and pitched himself as a “proven conservative fighter” for Arizona and referred to this debate and race as a job interview.

He never mentioned Kari Lake or her absence. However, he did point out that he showed up and said as sheriff, he would never, “hire anyone that didn’t show up for a job interview.”

The moderator did ask Lamb what he thought of Kari Lake’s absence and what he would say or ask her if she was there. He responded that he’s not running against anyone but rather running for only the U.S. Senate.
