Proposed DC Bill Seeks To Eliminate Workplace Bullying [Video]

Workplace bullying affects nearly 48.6 million Americans. Kim Williams, a chief of HR, shared her traumatic experience with a hostile work environment filled with swearing and yelling, leaving her fearing for her job. This turmoil impacted her daughter, Cassi, 16, who felt isolated and depressed, leading to falling grades and skipping classes.

Now attending school online, Cassi is working with D.C. council members to promote the Workplace Psychological Safety Act. “I want other families to be safe from this,” she said. The proposed legislation would allow victims to sue for bullying, anonymously disclose their cases, and require employers to address psychological abuse.
