NYC bar closing: Houndstooth Pub in Midtown to close after 13 years [Video]

MIDTOWN, Manhattan — Changing times have led to the last call at a beloved bar in Midtown Manhattan.

The Houndstooth Pub on West 37th Street and Eighth Avenue will be closing after 13 years.

The general manager says the area has changed and even with a supportive landlord, costs just got too high.

“While our landlord has been extremely supportive, with the Remote-Work craze, lack of Local, State and Federal assistance , the rising costs of insurance, utilities, labor and changes in the area we simply can’t continue operating which really breaks our hearts,” the bar said in a statement posted to its website.

One night that won’t be forgotten had Ed Sheeran jamming with Beyonce and Jay-Z.
