Generation Z employees from around the world are having their parents accompany them to work so they don’t have to do the commute alone.
Young people starting their first job was once the start of their reduced dependency on parents.
However, a growing number of young people are sharing their parents taking them to work on TikTok.
It comes after a recent survey discovered that one in four Gen Z job seekers have brought their parents to a job interview.
American TikTok user Meg, who goes by @tacobellebaybee, shared a clip with the writing: ‘My dad took the train with me into the city to practice walking to work because my first day is Monday’.
The video, which received over one million views, had a mixed reception. One said: ‘This is very sweet. But a little Lol. Grew up in NYC in the ’80s and started taking the train alone at 13.’
