DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — A disconnect between the local union of Brightspeed, an internet service provider, and their corporate office may have been fixed.
On Tuesday, Brightspeed reached an agreement with its employees and their union, CWA 3792, focusing on work-life balance, wages, and a cap on overtime hours.
According to CWA 3792 President Jerry Sain, the agreement states that employees will get a wage increase of one and a half percent over a five-year period. This increase will compete against locations such as North Carolina and Virginia.
Sain says employees can now only work limited back-to-back weekends and get a weekend off. The agreement also allows employees to have Christmas Eve as a paid holiday.
