CONSUMER FIRST ALERT: Scam targeting job seekers [Video]

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – We’ve got a Consumer First Alert on new scams targeting job seekers.

Reports say seemingly open positions that look real on popular websites, like Indeed and LinkedIn, could be fake, leaving people with an empty promise of employment and thousands of dollars lost if they’re not careful.

The perfect gig, great pay, working remote, you can start immediately. Making $120,000 a year for a well-known company.

Before you believe an online job ad, listen to this.

A Green Bay man told Action 2 News Tammy Elliot he followed up on what he now knows was a fake job post on LinkedIn.

No interview, just a questionnaire. He said he was promptly hired for a remote position at 120,000 a year.

Received this six-page employment contract, that uses the name of a real nonprofit company. Battelle in Ohio, signed by the CEO.
