The donation will be used to expand learning and career development opportunities for students.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — Bowling Green State University recently received an anonymous $5 million donation to its School of Art.

Not only is the multi-million dollar donation one of the largest gifts to the arts in BGSU history because of its amount, the funding will be used to help establish BGSU’s “RING” center. The RING center will be an extension to the School of Art where students will be offered more learning experiences and career advancement opportunities.

Initial funding for RING began in 2017, strictly for students in photography and study abroad. After years of funding, money has been used to support students in more of the School of Art’s disciplines, including studio, digital arts, graphic design, art education and art history. Over the years, RING has had a big impact on students, the university said.
