SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) – Over 50 eighth-grade girls from James E. Bazzell Middle School in Allen County took part in JA for Girls, an empowerment and mentorship program meant to build professional skills for young women.
Through a full day of mentorship from leading women across Allen County, the students took part in collaborative activities focused on resume building, personal branding, and social media etiquette. In crafting the program, Junior Achievement wanted to focus specifically on girls on the verge of their first steps into the professional world.
“You know, middle school, as a former educator, middle school kind of gets forgotten about and it is a really critical age, you know, a lot of things high schoolers get and even elementary schoolers get but there’s that middle school population that really needs to be advocated for, and Junior Achievement is here for that,” explained Lauren Griffing, director of education …
