Adams County woman convicted in 2020 murder of boyfriend [Video]

Cody DeLisa, 28, was shot and killed on Aug. 13, 2020, after his girlfriend met a man on a bus on her way home from a job interview.

BRIGHTON, Colo. — On Tuesday, the district attorney for Adams County announced the conviction of a woman following a three-week trial for the 2020 death of her boyfriend.

Ashley White, 29, was found guilty of: 

  • Second degree-murder
  • Conspiracy to commit second-degree murder
  • Robbery

According to the district attorney, in the months leading up to the murder of Cody DeLisa, 28, White and DeLisa had a “volatile and strained” relationship. 

On Aug. 13, 2020, White attended a job interview in Denver, according to the district attorney. A neighbor drove her to the interview, but she returned home by bus. She texted DeLisa about her experience and during the exchange, DeLisa expressed skepticism about the chances of White getting the job, which upset White, according to a media release from the district attorney’s office.
