LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Metro Corrections employees could also earn a degree thanks to a new program.
Kentucky State University and Metro Corrections are launching the Correctional Certificate Pathway. It’s expected to meet the educational needs of LMDC corrections officers and support their career advancements.
“We are pleased to partner with the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections to support correctional officers. The Correctional Certificate Pathway will provide officers the educational tools to enhance their service and careers,” said KSU President, Dr. Koffi C. Akakpo, in a news release.
Financial assistance, academic advising, tutoring and support services are part of the program. After completing the courses, corrections officers will earn a certificate from KSU.
Credits earned can also apply towards earning a degree at KSU.
